I heart Alice.

I have a new web site obsession. The fact that I have a web site obsession isn't new at all. That's pretty standard for me. Over the years (months?), I've fallen in love with a variety of sites:
  • idofoundation.org
  • endless.com (oops!)
  • weddingbee.com
  • and the most shameful, resisted-tooth-and-nail of them all: theknot.com
This may just be my favorite! The web site is called Alice.com. They sell a variety of items, mostly the types of things you can get from places like CVS, Walgreens, or if you're in NYC, Duane Reade. Their name comes from the name of the nanny on The Brady Bunch. Their tagline is "Everyone needs an Alice." They have several "hooks":
  • They sell their products direct from the manufacturer, helping to keep prices low
  • They find and make available manufacturer's coupons so you can save even more
  • They always have free shipping
  • They help busy people keep their home stocked with essentials like TP, paper towel, toothpaste, shampoo and dish soap by allowing you to specify how many people are in your household and how often you typically run out of things. Then, they'll send you a reminder whenever it's time to buy something (but you can choose whether or not to buy it.

Wheat Thins: $4.55
Coffee: $8.74
Storage Containers: $5.85
Mascara: $3.65
Floss: $1.27
Kleenex: 2@$1.68
Face Wash: $5.49

These prices may not seem that amazing to you, but you have to understand that in NYC, most products that you buy in drug stores are marked up about 100% because these places have such ridiculous rents! Alice is an easy way to find the things you need at out-of-town prices. And they deliver via UPS in about 2 business days!

Man, I love Alice!
